Postmortem

This project was created using Ink in Unity. The story had to be developed in a completely origin world. This did not have to be a linear piece. The concept for this specific game was to create an experience with horror like elements and to build emotional attachment with the characters.

With this project, there were several goals I wished to reach. The first goal was to build a sense of space. I wanted to draw the player into the story which I felt I was able to accomplish. Had the story been longer, the player would stay for more. I got a lot of positive feedback from play-testers who simply wished that there was more to the story. (I totally get that. I'll try to update and add more stuff)

The second goal I wanted to accomplish was to finish this project. I want the feeling of satisfaction knowing that I made a game using something I never even knew existed before this began. I definitely feel that even though the game is not as polished as I would like.

My third goal was to make the player have fun with the story. To keep them engaged and wanting more.

Something that didn't go as planned was definitely the overall game. I was not able to complete this project the way I originally intended. The story feels short and ends abruptly which was not planned.  Due to the small amount of time I had to build the game, I had to chop out many story elements.

Also when making this game in Unity, I originally had lots and lots of technical issues. There were errors that didn't make sense that kept appearing. I had to restart this process four times before I could even start. These technical issues really cut into my time and how I managed it.

Lastly, technical the story had trouble looping in certain sections. Since this was my first time ever using this addition, I had trouble figuring out how to make several aspects look intentional and not convenient.

All in all, using Ink was an interesting experience. I was able to learn new techniques that I previously had never even knew about. If and when I further this project, I would like to add sound in the background and images to help the player see where they are.
